" You can buy this rechargeable battery pack and never think about having to scrounge around the house looking under couch cushions or stealing some from your parent's TV remote. "
Title: GBA Battery Pack from Digital Spark
  Format: Rechargeable Battery for GBA
  Reviewing Monkey: Simi N.
The Hype: Recharge your batteries! Stop wasting money on new batteries all the time, just plug this in and recharge it whenever it runs out, or if you want to keep playing, just plug the AC adapter into the rechargeable battery while it's still in the GBA and it will recharge while you play!
  What This Monkey Thought...
Usefulness: All of you know how expensive it can be to constantly buy new battery packs for your GBA. I mean, hell, many of the games on the system take way longer to play than a pair of the highest quality batteries will last. So now instead of pouring money into the battery business, you can buy this rechargeable battery pack and never think about having to scrounge around the house looking under couch cushions or stealing some from your parent's TV remote. Just plug this one in and when it runs out, recharge to your heart's content. 4.5 out of 5.
Compatibility: This battery pack works for the GameBoy Advance only. But seriously you really wouldn't need it for any other system if you have it for GBA. The best part about the, "compatibility," is that this rechargeable battery comes with four different interchangeable covers so that it will match the color of your GBA no matter what (unless you, like myself, have the platinum GBA, then the closest you get is gray). Oh and the adapter plugs into any standard 12 volt outlet that you will find around your house. 4.5 out of 5.
Performance: Well, the battery definitely functions, I mean it powers your system like it is supposed to, but it will not last as long per charge (four or five hours) as the really nice non-rechargeable batteries will (although it did seem to last longer that the previous rechargeable battery that I bought). This really isn't much of a problem, however, unless you are going to be playing away from home for a while, because if the battery starts to get low (as indicated by the steady red light on your GBA) you can simply plug the AC adapter into the battery and watch it recharge while you play. My only real complaint about this battery is with the recharger stand. First of all, it is very bulky and second of all it has charge indicator that doesn't indicate how well it is charged, actually all it really indicates is that the metal plates on the back of the battery are touching the metal plates on the charger, so you really can't ever be certain that your battery has recharged all the way unless you leave it plugged in for 14 or 15 hours. 3 out of 5.
  The Verdict:
This is definitely the best GBA rechargeable battery pack that I have used yet. It runs for a decent amount of time and it's cool that you get the different plates so as to make the battery match the color of your system, but the recharge stand is kind of annoying and if you are on a long trip, you will have to bring regular batteries anyway because this won't last the whole way. |
The Good: Matches the color of your GBA, recharges while you play with the AC adapter.
The Bad: The charger stand is bulky and the charge indicator doesn't really tell you anything and it takes at least 12 hours to charge.
The Overall Ugly: At least when you're gaming at home, you won't have to buy any new batteries for a very long time, this thing pays for itself in short order.
What it's Worth: Definitely worth market.
