" A must have for any gothic/horror campaign and is the perfect ambient mood setter for your World of Darkness or Call of Cthulhu game. "
Title: Gates of Delirium by Midnight Syndicate
  Format: Ambiance Soundtrack
  Reviewing Monkey: Mojo Jojo
  What This Monkey Thought...
We first heard
the name Midnight Syndicate at this year's GAMA trade show…but for those of
you who, like us, might be haunted house or LARP aficionados the "music" that
the Syndicate plays will sound very familiar indeed. A CD designed for mood
and ambiance their series of horror soundtracks has been featured in just about
major scare attraction the world has to offer.
As the name implies,
Gates of Delirium is designed to conjure up some spectacular images of mental
chaos and asylum walls. To do this it relies on some wonderfully rich organ
music, an incredibly powerful drum line, and some great ambient vocals (including
moans, screams, weather effects, and the occasional chorus). The end effect
is an amazing combination of the traditionally scary and a pulse raising mixture
of emotion.
Of the 3 Midnight
Syndicate CDs we've reviewed so far, Gates is definitely my favorite and also
has the most diversity in application. Where this, like the others, can definitely
be used as some wonderful background music for a haunted house or Halloween
party, Gates of Delirium also crosses the gaming line and ends up a must have
for any gothic/horror campaign and is the perfect ambient mood setter for your
World of Darkness or Call of Cthulhu game.
