" Sexy pictures of Aunt May? Well this book has it all, baby! "

Title: Spider-Man: The Movie Strategy Guide by Brady Games

      Format: Spidey Game Official Guide

      Reviewing Monkey: Dungapult

The Hype: The game is stupid hard when all's said and done- so this hint book may be of some help. As an added bonus, it's one hint book for all platforms…so if you're some kind of freak who buys the game on both the PS2 and the Xbox you're totally covered.

      What This Monkey Thought...

Layout: Hint books, invariably, end up with one of two write-ups in this category. Either they're good and, thus, it goes moderately unnoticed or it's horrible and we rant about it with no end. Fortunately, this book is definitely the former not the latter, and so with it's nice table of contents, logical layout, and easy access form made me happy. I'm not sure what more you could do to improve all the classics niceties that Spider-Man has in its layout…but when someone does it I'll be sure and let you know. Beyond that, really, the only thing worth mentioning is the location of the level maps. For some reason rather than including them with the level walk throughs they're instead in a special section all by their lonesome selves. 4 out of 5

Usefulness: Let's face it; the game this book is for is a pain in the ass. Horrible camera angles and some semi-ridiculous difficulty levels means that you'll all but covet this book for saving you the time, and the dying, that the game requires to get through. It's got step-by-step "swingthroughs", move and strategy tips, characters, and special item locations. It also lists all the little inane things you can do to get max scores on the various missions. 4.5 out of 5

Desired Content: What is it you look for in a strategy guide? Walk throughs? Characters? Advanced move instructions? Gorgeous color pictures of all the characters and maps? A killer pull out cgi poster of Spidey himself? Sexy pictures of Aunt May? Well this book has it all, baby! Well, every thing but cheats (why do none of these books have cheats?) and maybe not the sexy pictures…But it does have a nice picture of her face and my vivid imagination can add the rest. Oooh, yeah! 4.5 out of 5

Accuracy: Everything was, more or less, where they said it was. The only problem is the narrative form the walkthrough takes will occasionally confuse you into missing things unless you make sure to check it against the map as well. 4 out of 5

      The Verdict:

All in all, this is a nice addition to the hint book market and I'm certainly happy I had it.

The Good: Pretty color pages, lots of info, a cool layout, and sexy, sexy Aunt May.

The Bad: Maps are in a funky place, no cheats, and Aunt May is only shown from the neck up.

The Overall Ugly: A great book that I'd make sure I bought with the game.
